Praying 2Timothy 3:16-17

All too frequently when reading the Bible my mind wanders or I don’t seem to be absorbing what I am reading. It used to be that 2Timothy 3:16-17 was a source of conviction, causing me to sense my own failure but through prayer it can become a source of strength.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV)

I believe that all Scripture was written to be profitable for my everyday life, that it has the power to help me to live a victorious life in Christ, to keep me from sin, and lead me in the way of God’s truth. As I read I pray that You would breathe life into the words once again, that You would quicken the Spirit You have put within me to understand and grasp the meaning of all passages of Scripture. Thank You that you have already given me everything that I need to be equipped for the good works you have planned for me to do.
